The choice of a hunting knife is as personal as it gets. If you ask a hundred people for a recommendation, you’ll get a hundred different answers… Sure, some hunting knives can be used to literally take down wild game in pursuit, but unless your name is Usain Bolt you’ll more likely use them for what happens after a successful hunt with game on the ground. The animal must be cleaned, skinned, and processed, often in the field. That’s where a basic blade, usually with a single sharpened edge, comes into play. However, a crossover into the survival, outdoor and tactical knives categories is not out of the question depending on the type of edge and excursion you’re about to embark on.
